At 14 metres long, with a beam of 3.85 metres, new Pirelli PZero is anything but a dinghy, but that’s what the manufacturer is calling it.
The ‘dinghy,’ says Pirelli, is the result of collaboration with Tecnorib, a licensee for Pirelli PZero dinghies, and the Swedish company OMD -- Ocke Mannerfelt Design -- a leader in sport and racing-boat design, and winner of numerous world titles.
We reckon that they have probably got it right because it’s the coolest-looking and most luxurious RIB that we’ve ever seen.
It is a sporty open dayboat, with no cabin, an aerodynamic windscreen, a targa top and three comfortable seats in the steering area. It also has lots of space at the bow and the stern, a living area with a teak table and elegant beige divans in Sunbrella.
For entertaining, there is a specially-designed bar complete with fridge and sink plus a small head fitted with a marine toilet, shower and washbasin.
Pirelli says that there are numerous possibilities for customisation, from the colours of the cushions to the colour of the hull, the deck and the support tubes, which are available in three shades of grey as is the central hydraulic wheelhouse, the distinctive feature of the Pirelli PZero.
The PZero comes with either petrol or diesel power with a top speed of 55 knots from the petrol version and 45 knots with the diesel version.
