Phillip Island Marine selling Signature

Renowned fibreglass trailerboats ideal for Bass Strait conditions

Phillip Island Marine, located on the waterfront in Rhyll, is the newest Victorian dealership -- and the first in the area -- to sell award-winning fibreglass Signature fishing boats built by renowned boat manufacturers, The Haines Group.

The Haines Group has been looking for the right dealer to sell their purpose-built fishing boats in regional Victoria for some time and believes the 40 year-old family business, Phillip Island Marine, is a perfect fit for their brand.

General Manager for the Brisbane-based Haines Group, Ryan Lloyd, said Phillip Island Marine’s heritage and reputation, as well as its location right opposite the Phillip Island boat ramp, was the ideal fishing-boat sales environment. And it makes it very easy for customers to test their boats before purchasing.

“We are very impressed with Phillip Island Marine’s location and one-stop shop that offers bowriders to offshore fishing boats, fuel, tackle and chandlery, and servicing,” Ryan said.

Phillip Island Marine Owner, Scott Huther, said he was looking for a true fibreglass fishing boat to add to their stable, one that suited the area and was what customers wanted.

“The Signature family fishing boat is just the ticket,” Hunther says. “It is built to handle the worst of the Bass Strait conditions and the best of the Bays and Gippsland Lakes waterways. Plus, being fibreglass, it offers a smooth ride.”

Huther said the Signature boats would provide local families with a quality fibreglass traile boat that was an ideal crossover craft -- equally appealing to families and fishing enthusiasts.

“Furthermore, because the Haines Signature boats are made in Australia, we have the ability to customise the leather colour and stitching so customers can buy a boat they are proud of and love,” adds Huther.

Phillip Island Marine’s unique waterfront location meant customers could test the Signature boats on the water before buying.

“It is a very simple process and it need not take a lot of time -- we can do it in 15 minutes. Plus, we are more than happy for customers to bring other boats along to test against the Signature boat of their choosing,” Huther says

Another service Phillip Island Marine offers customers is storage, which is an added boon for those who don’t wish to transport their boat to and from home. Phillip Island Marine offers a valet-like service, where they will back your boat in the water for you, and collect you when your day's fishing is done.

Phillip Island Marine currently has three Signature boats in stock -- the 502RF 543RF and 602F -- ranging in size from approximately five through to six metres in length. They are open seven days a week. See phillipislandmarine.com.au.
