Marine insurance specialist Pantaenius Australia has introduced a 90-day lift cover policy that gives boaters extra peace of mind while their boat is out of the water.
Launching the new policy, Pantaenius said it had noticed the challenges faced by boat owners seeking to have their vessels lifted at boat yards for maintenance or survey reports.
Nicholas Thorowgood, a sales account executive with the insurance group, said the lift cover policy was designed as a solution that eliminated the hassle of long-term insurance commitments.
“Our new policy provides a 90-day third-party liability insurance with up to $20 million cover arising out of claims in association with their vessel being lifted out of the water,” Thorowgood said.
“At a flat rate of $299 for vessels up to 50 feet and $399 for vessels over 50 feet, inclusive of stamp duty and GST, our policy ensures a seamless process without any hidden fees.
“The fast and straightforward application process allows you to get your vessel lifted on the same day you inquire about our product, with no survey required,” he said.

The insurance covers a boat owner for up to $20 million of third-party liability claims as a result of their boat being lifted.
Boats left in the water need to be regularly cleaned, usually at least once a year and by hauling them out of the water and using a pressure washer to remove the slime and marine growth.
Boatyards offer specialist haul-out services that cost anywhere from $500 to move a boat into or out of the water.
