Following its acquisition last year by Grand Banks, Palm Beach Motor Yachts is about to release the first new model under the new ownership — a PB52 — at the 2015 Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show from February 12-16.
Replacing the best-selling and award-winning the PB50, the new PB52 is powered by twin 435hp Volvo Penta IPS-600s with pod drives (as were latter PB50s), but the new boat’s dimensions and capacities have been substantially increased according to the specs online.
Destined to be a 30-knot boat like its predecessor, the new PB52 is three feet longer, three feet wider, with more fuel, water and invariably more weight. As with most Palm Beach Motor Yachts, the 52 footer is available with or without a flying bridge.
Looking at the scoop early release photos on Twitter, the lines of the PB52 look very similar to the PB50.
Palm Beach Motor Yachts founder and a majority shareholder in the new parent company, Grand Banks, has been quietly promoting the new PB52 to would-be buyers in Sydney, where we understand a buyer has signed up.
We have been told other new Palm Beach models are on the drawing board and Grand Banks has also embarked on a raft of new releases for the American market with brighter and less-staid interior layouts. Watch this space for follow-up news.
