The newly-crowned AUS 1 Champions in the Australian Offshore Superboat Championships are bringing their 'Team Navy' Offshore Superboat to Western Australia for the upcoming Mandurah Boat Show.
The 12m Maritimo Supercat will be on display and conduct exhibition runs at the Mandurah Boat Show on October 12 and 13.
The winning Frier brothers, Brendan and Chris, are one of the youngest crews currently racing Offshore Powerboats in the world. With the AUS 1 title now under their belt they’re keen to share their success with the West Coast of Australia.
"In a series primarily run on the east coast of Australia, we feel it’s only fair to share our Australian title with both sides of the country," said Team Manager Skye Gregory.
Interestingly, the Friers Offshore Racing Team recently announced a partnership with the Royal Australian Navy for the 2013 Offshore Superboat Season, which will see their Supercat rebranded as 'Team Navy'.
The announcement came almost a year after the Navy signed with Ford Performance Racing Team’s Chaz Mostert in the Dunlop Series.
While in Western Australia, the Friers Offshore Racing Team will recognise the support and work of the Royal Australian Navy by visiting HMAS Stirling, one of Australia’s largest Naval Bases.
"We’re very excited to be bringing our Team Navy boat over to the Mandurah Boat Show and give it a run in the beautiful waters of Western Australia.
"However, the boys are also keen to visit and meet the personnel at HMAS Stirling and enjoy being the smallest boat in the water for a change," commented Ms Gregory.
For your chance to see the Team Navy boat in action, be at the Mandurah Boat Show on October 12 and 13 at 1.00pm. You can also meet the Team from 9.00am each day.
