The new software effectively bridges the gap between PCs and embedded chartplotters by extending the power and capabilities of its Navionics chart compatibility. And, it is the only product available that allows seamless uploads and downloads of routes and waypoints to Navionics compatible chartplotters, as well as most popular handheld GPS receivers, said Oceantalk.
Marine ENC version 5 also offers greatly enhanced Automatic Identification System (AIS) integration. Among numerous new capabilities is the ease with which you can determine which vessels pose a collision threat and the facility to click on a vessel for expanded AIS information and true scale vessel silhouettes, said Oceantalk.
Another advantage of the software is that it comes with a new Fugawi Google Earth Plug-in. This gives the ability to view current GPS location on geo-referenced Google Earth images next to actual maps or charts in split-screen mode. The combination of detailed cartography and high-resolution aerial photography provides outstanding imagery and map information, said Oceantalk.
Robin Kydd, managing director of Oceantalk, is delighted to market the Fugawi software.
"Given the vast and complex geography of our region, this is a product custom-made for Australian waters. It will make a genuine contribution to safer and more confident boating - and not only does it deliver the most sophisticated images and information, it is remarkably easy to use," said Kydd.
