Local Grand Banks’ importer Hank Compton and his team on Queensland’s Gold Coast are now representing Ocean Alexander, the well-known Taiwanese boat builder with a long history throughout Australasia.
After his recently announced expanded role as Asia Pacific Managing Director for Grand Banks, Hanks announced the Ocean Alexander agency appointment and was celebrating the nomination of the prestigious brand in two categories of the annual Asia Boating Awards.
“My team has built an enviable reputation for service to our Grand Banks clients over the past three years,” Compton said. “We are delighted that this is recognised by the prestigious superyacht builder Ocean Alexander.”
The Asia Boating Awards listed Ocean Alexander as a finalist in the Best Asian Yacht Builder (30m and up) and Best Asian Built Yacht for the Ocean Alexander 90 Motoryacht (pictured).
Compton says this a great achievement and a wonderful beginning for his company's relationship with Ocean Alexander, which will share the Grand Banks dealership space at Hope Island Marina on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Compton’s new responsibilities come on top of his team’s continuing sales success with Grand Banks.
“The two brands are a perfect fit for us,” Compton explains. “Grand Banks is an iconic brand in the mid-size luxury cruiser market and Ocean Alexander extends our capabilities to offer a magnificent motoryacht to clients who are looking for something in the superyacht category.”
Meantime, a few words about Ocean Alexander.
Two generations of one family have guided the brand over the past 35 years. With manufacturing in Taiwan, China and the United States, Ocean Alexander’s combined yacht-building facilities make it among the largest in Asia, producing motoryachts ranging from 72 to 155 feet in length.
Ocean Alexander head office is based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The company’s web site is www.oceanalexander.com.
