The Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence, the brand’s first outboard engined centre console model, has locked in a 2019 Sydney International Boat Show Australian debut.
Designed as either a sports boat or a support vessel for a larger mothership, the Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence uses four Mercury Verado 350hp outboard engines to deliver 40 knot-plus performance.

The radical boat also features fold-down bulwarks that transform the cockpit into a much larger entertaining space.
“We are excited to debut the all-new Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence at the Sydney International Boat Show,” Alexander Marine Australia director and dealer principal Todd Holzapfel said.
“There’s a real appetite in Australia and New Zealand for a powerful, versatile outboard-powered boat that does double duty as an adventure vessel and luxury day boat combining performance and style.”
The Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence measures 14.5 metres long with a 4.19-metre beam that expands to 5.82 metres once the bulwarks are lowered.
The boat is more than just a shore leave express. The Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence’s foredeck features twin sunbeds located aft of a bow seating area fitted with a table that drops to create even more open lounging space.
The centre console, meanwhile, features a central helm station flanked on either side with individual captain’s chairs. The Glass Bridge style layout is protected behind a large windscreen reaching up to the hardtop canopy that stretches back into the cockpit.
Aft, behind the centre console, the Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence features another twin lounge area divided by a table that stows away when not needed, creating even more living space.
The cockpit is also fitted with a barbecue, sink and fridge/icemaker. A retracting SureShade canopy shelters the lounge area from the sun.
Below decks, the Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence has a cabin featuring a dinette with useable space for four people. The dinette’s table drops down to convert the space into twin-berth accommodation.
Offset to one side of the cabin is a head with separate shower stall, featuring natural light via windows and overhead skylights.
The boat is available kitted out as either a diving or fishing (the latter featuring a stripped-out cockpit that yields more space to move around, as well as features such as a live bait well and rod holders) layout.
The Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence will go on show at Sydney alongside the Ocean Alexander 88 Sky and the Ocean Alexander 70e.
Alexander Marine Australia will also have the Galeon 460 Fly and Galeon 510 Skydeck motor yachts on display.
The Sydney International Boat Show runs from Thursday, August 1 to Sunday, August 5 at the ICC Sydney and the nearby on-water display at Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour.
Tickets – available online – are $22 for adults, $20 for senior concession holders, $16 for pensioners and $13 for children aged six to 17 years.
