The Maritime Management Centre within Transport for NSW (TfNSW) together with Roads and Maritime Services is undertaking a state-wide study of existing boating facilities and safety measures to inform the development of Regional Boating Plans for each of the major waterways in NSW.
TfNSW says that the study will identify the actions required to “enhance the boating experience” across NSW by improving boating safety, boat storage and waterway access on the state’s major waterways.
Sydney boaters and those on the Murray still have a chance to complete one of the surveys which asks for your views on boating issues in these regions. The surveys can be found here: www.transport.nsw.gov.au/engagement/nsw-regional-boating-plans
The Hawkesbury River, Pittwater and Brisbane Water survey, as well as the Sydney Harbour Survey both close this Sunday (April 13).
Specialist consultant company GHD has been engaged by TfNSW to help coordinate the stakeholder engagement and provide expert advice in the developing the Regional Boating Plans. Once each draft plan has been completed, representatives from TfNSW will visit your region to provide further information and opportunities for feedback.
