High-end European boat brand Hydrolift has launched on the Australian market, with dealers Ocean Boats and Geoff Lovett International appointed to handle sales here.
The high-end Norwegian boats feature distinctive looks, twin-stepped hulls and big horsepower. They were developed using Hydrolift’s race-bred experience competing in and winning the Class 1 World Powerboat Championships.
The five boats introduced to the Australian market via Ocean Boats and Geoff Lovett International are from Hydrolift’s X-Series line of luxury dayboats starting with the 6.7-metre single-engined Hydrolift X-22 and ranging up to the Hydrolift X-32 S cabin boat and X-32 DC bowrider.

The distinctive twin-stepped hulls beneath the Hydrolift mix air into the water passing under the boats, reducing friction and helping to produce higher speeds and better fuel economy.
Hydrolift claims a top speed of around 80 knots – close to 150km/h – is possible on some models fitted with triple Mercury outboard engines.
“Each boat is beautifully appointed and crafted by hand to the most exacting of standards as you would expect from a country known for its world-class boat-building heritage,” Hydrolift says.
“Importantly with the benefit of over 40 years of research and development, every boat incorporates numerous thoughtful design features which have been progressively applied over time which makes a Hydrolift boat so remarkably practical to live with and yet so easy to forget how capable they are out on the open water.”

The boats also feature seating that allows all passengers to face forward – important for high-speed running – with the safety of a deep freeboard, and practical features such as galley stations and storage bins that are tucked away in what Hydrolift says is a clever use of the onboard space to maximise the area available for relaxing and entertaining.
Of note, buyers won’t have to wait long for a Hydrolift boat to be delivered to Australia.
“There’s no waitlist, except for the (enclosed wheelhouse) X-27 [SUV] which is on order,” Ocean Boats owner Shane May said.

“It’s good news for those keen to get out on the water. Every model has been specified for the Australian market with factory-fitted T-tops providing additional shade, U-Dek marine decking, 12V/240V power and increased capacity cooler boxes ensuring no one will run short on beverages.”
May said Ocean Boats was delighted to be appointed by Hydrolift to offer the X-Series range, “which we believe will capture the attention of anyone seeking a day boat at the next level”.

“Not only do these boats boast a stunning quality of finish and practical liveability, but the way they perform is simply extraordinary,” he said.
