‘Next-gen’ Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht locks in US debut

More refined Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht lines up for a Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show reveal

Australian luxury motor yacht maker Riviera has revealed it will premiere its “next generation” Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht at next month’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Changes to the Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht flagship include greater range and speed, enhanced guest and crew accommodation, and innovative engineering and technology advances that “have heightened the yacht’s voyaging capabilities and owner enjoyment”.

Improvements include more storage, service access and larger insulated lockers in the cockpit, and a new bar design on the alfresco deck with integrated refrigeration and seating.

Larger stateroom

Below decks, the guest accommodation offered by the third stateroom has grown larger and features crossover single berths, while the crew quarters/utility room can offer more berths and space.

Riviera has also made significant changes to the beating heart of the Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht – the engine room.

Changes to the engine room include a new layout and the introduction of smart technology including digital fuel and water tank gauges mounted at the external filler points. The gauges are also integrated into the Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht’s CZone digital switching and monitoring system.

The engines powering the Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht have increased in performance to 2000hp shaft drive MAN V12 diesels that the luxury motor yacht maker said were “perfect partners for the soft-riding and efficient hull design from world-leading superyacht architect Frank Mulder”.

US premieres

Joining the Riviera 72 SMY in the line-up of US premiers will be the just-launched Riviera 50 Sports Motor Yacht, the Riviera 64 Sports Motor Yacht launched in Australia earlier this year, and the next-generation Belize 54 Daybridge, complete with a full-beam master stateroom and the option of a hardtop for the flybridge.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will run from October 28 to November 1. It is one of the few international boat shows to go ahead despite the global COVID-19 pandemic.
