New Yamaha dealer at The Spit

Marine servicing takes new role

Long established marine electrical and mechanical servicing business Fleet Marine has branched out to establish a new Yamaha outboard dealership at d'Albora Marinas operation at The Spit in Sydney.

Fleet Marine director Anthony Daube is confident the new outboard franchise will meld successfully with his existing business which operates at Newport on Pittwater and Bobbin Head as well as The Spit.

"When we decided to expand at The Spit from a workshop to also have a retail shop, we approached Yamaha with a view to sell and service their outboards," Daube says.

"We felt we could do a great job for existing and potential customers in an area which was in need of a Yamaha dealer."

Fleet Marine will target repowering for the large number of open powerboats in the area and smaller outboards for the tenders and RIBs used by the larger vessels in the area.

"We have slipping facilities right alongside our workshop so we are able to do major engine repowers on the slip while other work such as anti-fouling is done at the same time," Daube says.

He says he is no stranger to the Yamaha brand having run both 2-stroke and 4-stroke Yamaha motors on his company work boats for years.

"Over the years I have used other brands, but nothing comes close to Yamaha for durability, reliability and fuel economy," stated Daube.

All Yamaha 4-stroke outboards have a four year warranty and 2-stroke outboards come with a three year warranty.
