Suzuki Marine has released the new DF4A, DF5A and DF6A outboards, each a four-stroke in its respective horsepower category, with claims of being the world’s lightest four-stroke outboard motors in their class.
Said to be lighter, faster and more manoeuvrable, the new DF4A/5A/6A outboards boast a range of new and improved features. They also exhibit a sleek new appearance in so-called Pearl Nebular Black.
Suzuki says the new models, re-engineered from the popular DF4/5/6 range, showcase the latest in compact and lightweight design while featuring three-way storage (port, starboard or front), a new tilt system, and improved portability.
A complete overhaul of the previous design has seen Suzuki achieve a comprehensive weight reduction. At just 23.5kg (S-shaft models), the DF4A/5A/6A is said to be lighter than any other outboard in its class and ideal for tender duties, small boats, tinnies and a variety of watercraft.
The DF4A/5A/6A also have enhanced user-friendliness and portability with the carrying handle at the front of the engine, integrated into the lower cover, and the rear handle given a rounder shape. These tweaks are said to make for easier portage using either or both hands.
