A new Robalo Cayman 206 is scheduled to debut at the Melbourne Boat Show from June 12-16. The impressive dedicated lure and fly-fishing platform hails from Robalo's new Bay Boat range that was launched earlier this year to critical acclaim.
There are three Bay Boats in the new series including the 206, 226 (pictured) and 246. The 226 recently won a top product award in America -- check out the great inbuilt fishing features above -- but the 206 isn't far behind according to Scott O'Hare, the Melbourne-based importer of Robalo and Chaparral boats.
"I have driven a 206 Cayman in the US and was amazed at the soft, dry ride and stability at rest," said O'Hare from Robalo Australia. "The new Caymans tick a lot of boxes for anyone considering a bass boat but wanting to do more than just flat-water fishing.
"We know Aussie and Kiwi fishos will be impressed with the new concept and we expect the Cayman series to be a strong part of the Robalo line up," he added.
Robalo boats have enjoyed a reputation as a premium brand in the States since 1968 and are recognised worldwide for their quality finish, tough construction and soft-riding hulls.
The Bay Boats have a moderate deadrise but a sharp entry for the best of ride smoothness and stability.
The Robalo line-up includes serious offshore fishing and crossover family boats from 18 to 31 feet and the company claims the number number one position in US fishing boat market with a 25 per cent share.
