New Princess 55 with 800hp shaftdrive engines

First look of the all-new Princess 55 with full-beam master cabin ahead of its global in September

Readying for its global launch at Southampton Boat Show 2017 in September, the all-new Princess 55 is the latest addition to the British luxury boatbuilder's popular Flybridge range.

Designed so that luxurious space is a constant companion, the Princess 55 features contrasting textures and materials throughout, with smart panelling, directionally laid teak veneers, inlaid polished stainless steel, and contemporary paint finishes.

5 KEY POINTS
>> 800hp Volvo Penta or MAN engines with shaft drives
>> 32-33 knots projected top speed and 250nm range
>> Designer interior with large lounges and convertible dinette
>> Three cabins including full-beam stateroom and two ensuites
>> Dedicated foredeck seating area

LIVING AREAS
The sociable flybridge has all the must-have amenities such as U-shaped aft seating area with folding teak dining table, a wetbar with optional electric barbecue, and twin helm seats are accompanied by L- shaped companion seating that converts to a sunpad. But it's all wrapped up in a sleek profile that belies the boat's generous size.

Indoors, the saloon features a spacious U-shaped sofa and handmade coffee table that has the option of converting into a dining area forward.  There's a 49” screen that rises up from the sideboard, while twin helm seats front a re-imagined helm station.

The aft galley caters for indoor and alfresco dining around the cockpit table, while the foredeck has its own special seating area in keeping with the latest trend to use the full length of your boat.

INTERIOR STYLING
Naturally, the emphasis indoors is on comfort and expansive living areas. Princess says the collection of contemporary sofas, beautifully crafted furniture and the floating side board is highlighted with subtle accent lighting and finishes in soft suede, tinted mirror, hand-stitched detailing and Japanese wallpapers to create perfect harmony.

Below decks, expansive hull windows create a sense of constant forward motion while generously flooding the interior with light.

Lower accommodation consists of a full-beam master stateroom with dressing table, breakfast area and ensuite bathroom; a forward double guest cabin with island berth; and a starboard twin cabin with the option of a double-bed conversion. There is also an optional single aft cabin with ensuite and storage for crew.

PERFORMANCE PLUS
The new Princess 55 can hit a top speed approaching 33 knots (half load) using a pair of 800hp Volvo Pena D13 or MAN i6-800 engines.

The 55ft motor yacht carries 2750lt of fuel and 608lt of water for, we estimate, a range of around 250nm. Refinement and performance in equal measure, proffers the UK boatbuilder.
