Nordhavn has launched its latest 100-foot sportfishing superyacht dubbed Serenity, which is described as a luminary representative of the new standard of excellence that boatbuilder Pacific Asian Enterprises, Inc. (PAE) has reached.
Based on the hull of the Nordhavn 86/96, the new expedition yacht is a said to be a dreamboat for her avid fisherman-owner, who wanted a yacht with a proper sportfishing cockpit capable of taking him to the most productive fishing spots in the world.
The lines of Serenity are unmistakably Nordhavn, with the same elegant reflective of the classic profile of the N96, which was another popular expedition fisher.
FISHING COCKPIT
But this new 100-footer is aid to meet the buyer’s wishes for a global cruising yacht that goes to the next level, with world-class construction, performance and finish.
A custom build, the owner wanted a proper sportfishing cockpit that wouldn’t interfere with guest lounging spaces. The perfect fishing/family boat.
PAE’s design team went to work on devising a space separate from the California deck — which is the designated outdoor entertaining area aft of the saloon — with the addition of the fishing cockpit and an extended transom and swim step that extends more than over metre on the standard 96.

While the N86/96 model’s interior is highly customisable, Serenity differs vastly from her sisterships with a very unique layout that the owner helped design in order to achieve enough staterooms for his family and sufficient quarters for crew.
The result is a five-stateroom retreat, each with ensuite head, plus accommodations for a crew of four.
Destry Darr Designs created a modern, elegant and comfortable living space that features walnut wood, stainless steel inlays, Lutron lighting and extraordinary stone work.
The medium-dark coloured wood is said to set-off a neutral colour scheme of grey, cream and brown and allows the vibrant artwork throughout the boat to stand out.
The distinct hull colour is a regal Stars and Stripes blue.
SPEED AND STYLE
While the longer waterline gives Serenity a slight edge in efficiency over her N96 sisterships, Chief of Design Jeff Leishman says speed and fuel capacity won’t vary from a typical Nordhavn 96.
Displacment will bne around 185t, with a 24ft (7.32m) beam and draft around 2.50m. The boat will hold more than 26,000lt of fuel and we believe twin C18 Caterpillar engines are the powerplants of choice for the typical 12-13 knot hull speed.
Built at South Coast Yacht Marine, Serenity is being prepared to be shipped to PAE headquarters in Dana Point, CA, for final commissioning in March, 2017.
