New national marinas boss

Peak industry body gets new chairman

Andrew Chapman, the CEO of The Marina at Hindmarsh Island in South Australia, has been appointed chairman of the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) to succeed the outgoing Jeff d'Albora.

Chapman has been a director of the MIAA since 2005 and has been involved with marina planning, construction and management since 1984.

At the MIAA boarding meeting on October 1, Chapman thanked d'Albora for his exceptional leadership in his seven years as chairman. "Thanks to his leadership, MIAA now represents 85 per cent of the professional club and commercial marinas in Australia," Chapman said.

Chapman says he is looking forward to working with the MIAA board of directors to build on those programs that promote marinas and contribute to the sustainability of the industry.
