New MasterCraft XT22 expands the crossover line-up

Popular MasterCraft XT crossover range adds new 22-footer with a ‘digitally-enhanced boating experience’

MasterCraft Boat Company has introduced the new XT22, a larger XT crossover boat designed for long, hot days of family adventure on the water.

The second largest do-everything XT boat, the 22-footer has an expanded cabin for more comfort and a sizeable wake to lift the fun factor. The promotional material even shows dad flicking a few lures from the bow for bass. And why not?

The new model also showcases MasterCraft’s latest innovations designed to create a more intuitive and customisable boating experience. The new digital driving and entertainment system is said to be an industry first.

But by our reckoning this is also a bellwether boat with the latest digital switching, multifuntion screens, with smartphone and Bluetooth and GoPro integration. You can go boating on the XT22 and send stuff up to social media via the supplied rear-facing cameras, your action cameras and your phone. Expect more of this kind of thing going forward.

THE 22-FOOTER SLOT
Owning a slot in the XT line between the XT23 and XT21, the new XT22 is a large volume wakeboat with 16 passengers capacity. The innovative and on-trend pickle-fork bow bolsters forward lounge area, while rear transom seats and a cockpit backrest open up more spots for family and friends to kick back.

The all-new hull with MasterCraft’s optional award-winning Gen 2 Surf System creates three zones of perfectly sculpted, sizeable waves.

Hard-sided ballast tanks accommodate up to 1224kg or 2700lbs. of extra displacement to enhance the boat’s wake.

The XT22 can be equipped with MasterCraft’s award-winning Dockstar Handling System, a revolutionary flanking rudder system that assists manoeuvring in tight spots and crowded marinas.

SIMPLIFIED DIGITAL OPERATION
Following customer and tech-partner feedback, MasterCraft has simplified and enhanced the on-board software system with just three owner-favourite usage modes: drive, tow and chill.

The new “modal” operating software is built into a new 10.1in touch screen and 12in non-touch display that together claim to offer the most screen real estate on any towboat on the market today.

The system’s software also offers pre-loaded tutorial videos and maps of all global waterways, while integrating with your smartphone, the boat’s rear-facing cameras, as well as enabling real-time integration with on-board GoPro Cameras through the inbuilt GoPro app. Shoot away.

BIG SOUND SYSTEM
The XT22 also debuts a new customisable Klipsch Audio system which, following the recently announced exclusive partnership, will be the standard on all new MasterCraft boats.

Klipsch Audio’s MasterCraft-exclusive marine speakers and amplification solutions are said to create a heavy-hitting, customisable concert-style entertainment experience.

The sound system has an audio mode paired to each driving mode (drive, tow, chill) that’s accessible via the dual-screen dash. A so-called ICE control system controls zone volume, equaliser, media sources, and integrated Bluetooth.

ZFT2 TOWER AND ILMOR POWER
The XT22 debuts the new easy folding, gas-shock-assisted ZFT2 tower as standard equipment. The ZFT4 or customisable ZFT7 Power Tower are upgrade options.

The XT22 is powered by the latest General Motors engines marinised exclusively for MasterCraft by Ilmor Marine.

The XT22 comes standard with an Ilmor 5.7L multi-port injection V8 engine (5000 MPI V8). Two Ilmor Gen Five gasoline direct injection motor options are available including the 5500 GDI V8 (5.3L), or the bolder 6000 GDI V8 (6.2L).

FAMILY FIRST
An ideal new family vessel, XT22 has the room for the whole clan to climb on board and create memories, MasterCraft enthuses.

The XT22 has also served as a catalyst for professional surfer, Leila Hurst, and her father to reminisce about their lives surfing together. Check out their sweet vid on the XT22…

Like all MasterCraft boats, the XT22 comes with a five-year MasterCare protection plan and warranty. MasterCraft dealers will begin taking orders on XT22 models immediately.
