New Maritimo M48 launched

Maritimo's 400th boat, the new M48 received a warm reception at its Sanctuary Cove boat show launch

Maritimo has reached a major milestone with the release of its 400th vessel in the Gold Coast yard's nine-year history.

The very first new-generation M48 Cruising Motoryacht (pictured), which had its international debut at SCIBS, is the 400th boat the company has manufactured since its inception.

Company founder Bill Barry-Cotter, who been involved in every SCIBS since it started, said it was fitting that Maritimo’s 400th boat was completed in time for its  debut at SCIBS.

"This is a significant achievement for us as a company and to have reached this milestone as part of the 27th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is especially rewarding," he said.

Maritimo’s Sales and Marketing Manager Greg Haines added that the company had the world premiere of two of its state-of-the-art new models, the M65 Cruising Motoryacht and the M48 Cruising Motoryacht, at Sanctuary Cove.

Going into Sanctuary Cove boat show, five of the M65s had been sold. The M48 was tipped to be one of the company’s best-ever sellers combining big boat features and luxury into a 48 footer with a price tag of around $1.3 million. The M48 utilises the yard's proven 470 Offshore hull.

"The M48 has a full-beam master just like the M58, it has a tender and water sports equipment garage in the transom which is unique in this size boat and it will deliver fuel efficiency our competitors can only dream about," he said.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src="//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

In addition to these two boats, Maritimo will have an M50, M58, S43 and Mustang 32 Sports Cruiser on display.

"We have enjoyed strong sales across the full range of our models in the past 18 months and to reach boat number 400 is a fantastic result," he said.

"Maritimos are now visible in marinas around the world and our vessels have a reputation for their solid sea keeping abilities, their design and also the quality for the construction and fitout.

Mr Haines said the 400th vessel had been purchased by a Sydney resident. He said the boat included some exciting innovations and design features that exceed international standards.

The new boats boat certainly turned some heads at Sanctuary Cove and Maritimo expected strong sales to follow. After all, the original Maritimo M48 Cruising Motoryacht accounted for 108 sales.

In addition Mr Haines said the M58 Cruising Motoryacht being displayed had the complete package of luxury inclusions offered by Maritimo including Wenge timbers, B&O sound system, plush soft furnishings and a sumptuous full beam master suite.

This year Maritimo display once again partnered with Maserati and B&O. The Maritimo Offshore Racing’s World Championship winning race boat grabbed some more attention, especially when it was fired up a few times each show day.
