Team Windcraft’s John Cowpe recently visited the Hanse Factory in Germany to view the new 57 footer in the final stages of construction.
Cowpe’s impressions of this new 575 are that it will be an "easy to sail, fast and well-built ocean-ready yacht'.
"I am particularly impressed with the high-end finish and the space and volume. For example, the cockpit is exceptionally large because the beam is carried well aft.
"With her beautifully-designed Judel/Vrolijk hull and optimal rig dimensions I expect her to be a fabulous sailing yacht,"Cowpe added.
All lines lead under the deck to winches by the helm positions and the Hanse original self-tacking headsail was integral to the design from day one.
The large cockpit features two tables which can be converted into a lounging area.
The interior has numerous opening hatches with hull windows offering a sea view.
"The interior offers open-plan living with smart zoning of the navigation, living and galley areas. The nav station could also double as an office and has a large bench with leather seat," explains Cowpe.
"A huge TV separates the galley from the lounge area very effectively when it is in the raised position. The long galley has vast amounts of storage and I particularly like the fact that the dishwasher is split into two drawers.”
The master suite is always a feature of the larger Hanse 5 series yachts with owners appreciating the walk-around bed and separate shower and head. Hanse 575 buyers can choose from 3, 4, 5 or 6 cabin layouts.
The new 575 is the biggest yacht in Hanse's 5 Series, eclipsed only by the 630E, which is sure to be replaced soon.
