Haines Signature is releasing a new sub-5m fishing boat that ticks all the boxes for families and first-time boat buyers looking for an affordable way to get on the water.
The Queensland boatbuilder says its fourth generation 495F will showcase clever enhancements and modifications using an already legendary build.
The result will be an extra 15cm (6 inches) of cockpit space, a re-designed dash and more storage than its predecessor, the 493F, which has been an exceedingly popular model.
The new generation styling seen in the recently released 550F will be adopted, giving cleaner lines and a re-worked bowsprit.
The improvements to storage will see full-length cockpit side pockets with shelves, two live bait tanks in the transom, plus a large cockpit/cabin area with better bow access.
The revamped dash will cater for larger electronics, up to 9in MFDs for today's fishing enthusiasts.
But for all this, Haines Signature says the major drawcard is the actual boat size and its manoeuvrability. It can easily be towed with the family car or SUV on a single-axle trailer and is small enough to be garaged if required.
John Haines of The Haines Group says the new 495F will be a great entry-level boat that’s versatile enough to convert into a fishing or sports cruiser.
"This section of the market has been great for Haines Signature and our customers, who have demanded a boat that’s small enough to easily store and tow while still possessing all the features and capabilities of other Signature boats.
"The 495F, can easily be launched by one person and is perfect for day trips, exploring water ways, pulling the kids on tubes, or comfortably handle the rough for fishing trips offshore."
The 495 boasts the same soft ride and stability at rest as its big brothers, thanks to its Variable Deadrise Hull that’s synonymous with Haines Signature Boats.
The new boat will have a power rating of 60-90hp and is also fully customisable with a range of options available including bimini, bait boards, stainless steel rails, transom steps and much more.
The Haines Signature 495F will be making its debut at the Gold Coast International Boat Show and Marine Expo from March 17-19 at the Australian Marine Centre stand (no. 174).
The affordable 5-6m trailerboat market has been the strongest segment for new-boat registrations year-on-year in Queensland.
This new 495F is priced from $37,699, excluding on-water costs. The model featured in the images above, which was to be displayed at the GC show, is priced from $43,923 with a 90hp Suzuki DF90A outboard and trailer, excluding on-waters costs.
