Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts and its Australian importer Multihull Solutions have chosen the 50th Sydney International Boat Show from August 3-7 as the stage for the local launch of the new MY 44 power catamaran.
Created by naval architects and designers Daniel Andreiu and Pierangelo Andreani, the MY 44 uses low-drag semi-displacement hulls with power options from standard 300hp Volvo Penta IPS 350s pod drives to the upgrades 435hp IPS 600s that give 30 knots top speed.
Following the recent European launch, the MY 44 has been praised for its 1000nm range at displacement speeds from the 2000lt tanks, contemporary design, expansive flybridge, and numerous entertaining areas including foredeck lounge.
Living space is, of course, a big part of the 44’s appeal and includes a 20sq m saloon, 12sq m flybridge, and a 15sq m master suite. Just as impressively, the big cat has three cabins each with a double bed and en suite!
The saloon has been fitted with sleek panoramic windows for 360-degree views and loads of natural light, plus there’s the requisite lower helm station, aft galley and opposing plush lounges.
Multihull Solutions will also exhibit the Helia 44 Evolution at the show, which will be the first time the sailing catamaran has been displayed in NSW.
The Helia 44 Evolution was said to capture the attention of visitors at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in May, with four new orders apparently taken on the boat. Shares are also available for syndicated boats based in the Whitsundays.
