New flagship for Hanse

Hanse Yachts plans to complete the first Hanse 630 in early 2006. It will be the largest production sailing yacht in Germany.

The low coach roof and the optimal use of space are all part of Hanse's new style. Hull and deck will be made of cored, vacuum bagged, epoxy and E-glass construction to minimise weight. The integrated hull liner grid and deck support structure are built from E-glass laminate, reinforced with carbon fibre, to give the boat its stiffness.

The Judel/Vrolijk hull is designed for speed.

Hanse's modular interior concept allows customisation of the interior. For example, the owner can choose to have an owner's cabin with a separate head, a separate shower and a bath tub; or a 'garage' in the bow with space to store a dinghy, or even be enough room for a small automobile.

On deck, Hanse's signature 'easy handling, easy sailing' concept incorporates a self-tacking jib as standard on the Hanse 630, like on all other Hanse yachts. All halyards lead below the deck directly to steering stations. Two standard cockpit tables make the cockpit more comfortable and open a centreline path to the companionway.

Eight Hanse 630s have been ordered so far. According to the yard, the price for a Hanse 630 with standard equipment will be around $2 million.
