Windy Boats Australia, the importer of the Windy range of luxury sports cruisers and super-tenders from Norway, has rebranded itself as Graaf Marine and has recently signed to become the exclusive Australian agent for the US-produced Pursuit Boats fishing craft.
Pursuit builds four ranges of boats: the Offshore from 23-37 ft; the Centre Console from 20-31 ft; the Dual Console at 26ft; and the Sport from 28-31ft.
All are outboard-powered -- many with twin and triple engine configurations -- and are designed to provide a serious platform for offshore and inshore fishing and for serious fun.
Graaf Marine is a family-owned and operated business that prides itself on integrity and exceptional customer service -- traits it believes will fit perfectly with the ideals of both Pursuit and Windy brands.
Both ranges of boats are hand-built by master craftsmen with a commitment to excellence and combine uncompromising quality, performance and seaworthiness. Graaf Marine director Rob de Graaf says the addition of the Pursuit range allowed the company to cover both the cruising and fishing markets.
“We originally identified with Windy boats because they were built by craftspeople, not just churned out in a mass-production process,” De Graaf says. “Pursuit Boats follows a comparable principle to Windy and we are very proud to be associated with brands of this calibre. Both factories took their time to decide who would be their Australian importer and it demonstrates that these companies value relationships over numbers. This is a philosophy we subscribe to and something both Windy and Pursuit owners will benefit from in the short and long term.”
Windy boats range from 25 to 58ft and all boats over 40ft are built to Ocean Category A and are compliant with Australian survey standards. Windy also builds the Dubois-designed SR52 Blackbird super-tender that was originally designed as an auxiliary vessel for superyachts.
Its range of boats has earned Windy a large following in Europe.
Graaf Marine is currently displaying a Windy 48 Triton at its Sydney headquarters at D’Albora Marina at the Spit Bridge in Middle Harbour. The first Pursuit model is expected to arrive shortly from the US.
