New direction for GCCM

Changes at the top for Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard

In an open letter addressed to “all of our valued customers” Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard boss, Jeff Leigh-Smith has said that he has resigned as MD, reduced his shareholding in the company and is going boating.

In part, the letter states: “My partner, Patrick Gay, via his company XYZ Investments, Pty Ltd is now the majority owner and shareholder of the facility. This move has now allowed me to step back from my duties as Managing Director, in order for me to finally take time out to focus on personal interests. Due to past health reasons, I have decided that after nearly fifty years in the marine industry, it is time I went boating on my new Alaska motor yacht and spent more quality time with my wife Jenny.”

Mr Leigh-Smith added that he has retained a shareholding and will remain a director of the company. He has also retained a 50 per cent share in the boat sales division which is run by his son Dean.

Mr Leigh-Smith’s second son Dean will represent his interests as a company director of the GCCM where he manages the shipyard and marina operations.
