For the end of the European sailing season and well timed for our 2016 season, Dehler is adding another new model to its range – the Dehler 42.
Dehler says that whether you're after a fast cruising yacht or a quick race performer in the enhanced Competition version, the new Dehler 42 will impress with its combination of power and dynamics.
The Dehler 42 has a LOA of 12.84m, a waterline length of 11.50m and beam of 3.93m. Three keel versions will be available: standard T-keel with 2.15m draft, competition T-keel with 2.40m and an L-shape keel with 1.98m.
Dehler is offering different trim levels which enables the yacht to be ordered as a comfortable cruiser or a competitive sporty model with a wide range of options.
The sporty attitude is emphasised with a tall keel-stepped two-spreader rig. Dehler has come up with a clever idea called the Carbon Cage which is a reinforced carbon-fibre structure in the bottoom of the boat which absorbs the loads of the mast and distributes them over the entire floor.
Some valuable features were taken from the successful Dehler 38 and 46, such as on the exterior and shape of the roof structure, the window design with aluminium trim, as well as the hull shape with steep stern and wide transom.
The open transom of the racing version can be enclosed with a bathing platform on the more cruisy version. A composite bowsprit is available as an option for running a code zero or gennaker.
The interior can be ordered with two or three cabins and one ot two heads. The saloon features a large U-shaped sofa, a generous L-shaped galley and a navigation table.
A patented "Uni Door" is used in the rear bathroom – one door can either separate the entire room from the saloon, or swivel to separate the washbasin area from the toilet and the shower. This creates a separate shower area in the bathroom.
The first boat should be ready by January 2016 and will debut at the 'Boot 2016' in Düsseldorf.
