Australia’s newest marina and beach at Wyndham Harbour on Port Phillip Bay officially opens this Saturday February 27. Wyndham Harbour Marina is Victoria’s newest addition to Port Phillip Bay since St Kilda Marina was completed in 1969.
Wyndham Harbour Boating Ambassador and inhouse boat dealer, Darren Finkelstein, says the new marina will provide boating enthusiasts with a world-class experience.
"The opening of Stage 1 of Wyndham Harbour will provide direct access to the Bay, a new floating pontoon system with power and water supply, 24-hour surveillance, café, boat sales [St Kilda Boat Sales are have opened an office here] with chandlery and bait as well as free parking on site – all the facilities and amenities needed for boating enthusiasts to have an enjoyable and stress-free time on and off the water.
"Another really important aspect to note is that, up until now, there has been no safe harbour between Geelong and Williamstown for boating enthusiasts to dock their boats while seeking protection from volatile weather conditions – Wyndham Harbour will provide this protection for water craft in Melbourne’s West.”
Wyndham Harbour berth owner and Hoppers Crossing resident, Lorraine De Kleuver, says the marina’s official opening has been highly anticipated.
"As boat owners, there are three things that are really important to my husband and I: Convenience, accessibility and safety,” she said.
"Having our own berth at Wyndham Harbour provides these essentials. Direct open water access, power and water on our own pontoon, on site maintenance assistance and the peace of mind of 24-hour security means we’ll be able to fully enjoy the marina lifestyle without all the unnecessary worries that come with mooring your boat elsewhere.”
Wyndham Harbour’s Project Director, Sonya Miller, says it’s not too late for boat owners to purchase a berth at Wyndham Harbour and enjoy all that the marina has to offer.
"We have a limited number of wet berths available for purchase during Stage 1 so now is a great time to buy," she said.
"Upon full completion, Wyndham Harbour Marina will provide up to 1000 wet berths, dry boat storage for up to 390 boats, state-of-the-art facilities and a refuelling dock and marina service centre. It will become a thriving lifestyle destination for both locals and visitors.”
Wyndham Harbour’s official opening weekend on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February will kick off with boat lessons, stand up paddle boarding, fishing competitions and free family activities.
