The Gold Coast Trailer Boat Show will be held at the Carrara Sports Complex, Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Carrara, on Friday, October 26 to Sunday, October 28.
BIAQ events and marketing manager, Farrokh Golchin, said the Gold Coast Trailer Boat Show was the only industry endorsed boat show on the Gold Coast for the trailerable segment of the market.
He said the concept was initiated by the major Gold Coast retailers who highlighted the need for such a show.
"Although there is a trend towards larger boats on the Gold Coast, more than 80 per cent of the 26,000 registered boats in the region are under six metres in length," said Golchin.
"This highlights the popularity of trailer storage in the Gold Coast recreational boat market and is a major driving force in the six per cent annual growth rate of boat ownership in Queensland.
"The Gold Coast is the largest boating community in the state, with 13 per cent of all Queensland registered boats located in the region," he said.
Golchin said the Nerang River would be the ideal backdrop for the indoor/outdoor show, with plenty of on-water activity, including water skiing, wake boarding and the final round of the Queensland Open Bream Tournament championship with a live weigh-in.
Golchin said there had been an overwhelming response to expressions of interest from potential exhibitors, which indicated the Gold Coast Trailer Boat Show would be the largest event of its kind on the Gold Coast.
