New boat lift and maintenance facility

Strong interest shown at Maritimo

A decision by Maritimo to open up its boat lift, hard stand and maintenance facility at Hope Harbour Marina to the general boating public is paying dividends.

Competition for the boat owner’s dollar when it comes to maintaining their pride and joy has never been hotter and Maritimo’s state-of-the-art centre is drawing boat owners from far and wide.

The travel lift and service/maintenance centre has, up until recently, been used largely to provide services and facilities to Maritimo owners, but a decision was made to make it available to anyone with a boat and the bookings flowed.

Maritimo’s Craig Jones said the location of the facility at Hope Harbour Marina was a major plus because it was close to Paradise Point, the Sovereign Islands, Sanctuary Cove  and Hope Island Resort.

Mr Jones said a lot of the vessels involved are Martitimos, but about 50 per cent of the business now going through the facility involved other makes and owners who were not previously Maritimo or Mustang customers.

"We are in a great location being at Hope Harbor Marina and with a 75-tonne travel lift and under-cover hard stand on request we can basically look after any sized vessel," he said.

“We also have a spray booth and qualified people who can look after anti-fouls, wash downs, polishing, detailing, engine servicing, repairs, upgrades, interiors, electrics, additions and basically anything that a boatie may need or want.”

Mr Jones said the accessibility and the security of the facilities were two of the key positives that people highlighted when they bought their boats to the Maritimo centre.

"The fact that you don’t have to go all the way up the western reach of the Coomera River to get your boat lifted any more is hugely appealing to many boat owners and with the size of our travel lift we can accommodate virtually any boat," he said.

"We are very competitive so anyone needing to get their boat out of the water should give us a call and compare," Jones added.
