The trend for small outboard-powered 'pocket cruisers' continues with the latest offering from Beneteau.
Living up to its reputation as something of an adventurer, the new addition to the Barracuda family, which will be launched in Europe soon, benefits from the experience gained during the Barracuda Tours organised each year.
Apart from a new hull which is said to be both attractive and even safer, the Barracuda 8 brings together features that should make it a hit in the sport fishing sector.
With its sturdy and reliable appearance and a walk-around deck and pilothouse layout, the new Barracuda 8 will combine comfort with protection and has all the qualities of a perfect ‘commuting’ boat.
As the first model with the Air Step 2 hull, the Barracuda 8 is said to be the most seaworthy boat in the range which was introduced four years ago.
The Barracuda will be available with single or twin engines up to 300hp, and the 285-litre standard fuel capacity can be increased to 400 litres.
Fishing features include a bait station aft, rod holders, drink holders and a live-bait tank under the bench seat in the cockpit.
The bench seat is a comfortable place to sit while fishing or it can be enclosed with the side seating to form a big sunbathing area.
The cockpit can accommodate eight people around the foldaway table.
The cabin offers a comfortable double berth, stowage space and separate toilet.
The Barracuda 8 can be configured with three different pilothouse layouts – two doors, three doors or as a semi-flybridge boat.
