New Beneteau Antares 6 and 9

The French giant launches two new outboard-powered cabin cruisers in the popular small powerboat segment

Beneteau released two new Antares cabin-cruiser models at the Nautic boat show in Paris in December, 2017. The Antares 6 is a small pilothouse boat designed to deliver a quality boating experience, while the Antares 9 is pitched as the ultimate weekender.

ANTARES 6
The smallest of the outboard pilothouse boats, the modern styled Antares 6 has been designed for everything from day cruising and fishing to lunching aboard.

Rated for up to six people, the Antares 6 has a decent cockpit for entertaining or fishing, with a sliding aft bench seat (which allows for full engine tilt), plus oodles of hand rails for onboard safety.

With lots of surrounding glass, the pilothouse is bathed in natural light while also affording clear visibility from the adjustable driver’s seat and convertible co-pilot’s seat. Facing the saloon table is a small but practical food-prep area with a sink, refrigerator and plenty of storage.

Built on the latest generation of outboard hulls, the new baby Antares is said to offer impressive stability, as well as great driving pleasure from a single 115hp outboard.

ANTARES 9
Beneteau says the Antares 9 is an invitation to spend more time at sea. Modern and stylish, the small cruiser boasts two separate cabins, a decent washroom, a galley and plenty of seats for short cruises with family or friends.

The U-shaped cockpit seats convert to a sunbathing area in the spacious cockpit, which measures 1.53m x 2.40m.

With a three-leaf sliding door and panoramic sunroof, the pilothouse offers a 360-degree view and an enhanced feeling of space.

The saloon lounge is cleverly arranged with a modular co-pilot seat that swings around to the table, while a starboard door enhances deck access and assists docking from the helm.

The Antares 9’s Airstep hull has been designed to cut smoothly through the waves, offering maximum pleasure underway.

With up to twin 200hp engines, the boat has a serious offshore ability and cruising range enhanced by the 600-litre fuel tank and a 160-litre freshwater supply.
