New 45-footer from Palm Beach

Palm Beach Motor Yachts launches a "piece of art"

Palm Beach Motor Yachts recently launched its very first PB45 at Brooklyn just north of Sydney.

Company founder Mark Richards was understandably excited about the new boat: "With a new contemporary layout, we have managed to take quite a few hours out of this boat without compromising our high quality. We remain focussed on building the best boats possible but are very excited to bring a boat to market with a list price of $1.2m," he said.

The PB45 in standard form is powered by twin Volvo IPS400s providing an expected top speed of 26kts. The foam sandwich construction process provides an ultra-light weight of 12 tonnes. Combining this with a super-slippery, semi-displacement hull, Palm Beach believes this is the most fuel-efficient boat in its class. As with all Palm Beach vessels, the handling and sea-going nature is exceptional and something the Palm Beach team is very proud of. "We build boats, not floating caravans," said Richards.

The metallic, silver-brown coloured PB45, called Ammonite will be travelling to Sanctuary Cove Boat Show on the way to its ultimate home in Hamilton island.

"Feedback from clients so far on the new contemporary fitout has been sensational," said Richards. "We are going to introduce it into all of our models as an option," he added.

Palm Beach continues to satisfy strong demand for its bespoke, semi-custom luxury motor yachts with a solid forward order book. The Berkley Vale  company will be exhibiting its new PB45 and PB55 at Sanctuary Cove in May.
