New 2015 Sea Ray 470 Sundancer
Eye-catching redesign of popular sportyacht, with unique SkyFlow Design to illuminate the futureAmerican pleasure-boat icon Sea Ray has just introduced a completely redesigned 470 Sundancer to "bring cutting-edge advancements and enhanced social flow to this popular sportyacht model."
The 2015 model 470 is expected to arrive here mid-next year, says Andrew Bennett from Queensland Marine Centre, the Sea Ray dealers in Queensland.
"The new 470 is a great design and we will have one by Sanctuary Cove (boat show) next year. The one-level living is definitely a requested and popular layout and with Sea Ray's design we still don't loose the great Sundancer cockpit seating," Bennett told BoatPoint.com.au and boatsales.com.au.
Sea Ray says entertaining on the 470 Sundancer is now easier and more inviting than ever thanks to a new expansive "sunroom" featuring a huge sunroof as well as generous seating on both sides of the craft.
Continuous flow of light and movement between the atrium, sunroom and cockpit are hallmarks of Sea Ray’s innovative SkyFlow Design. A wide-opening, triple-pane entry door and a retractable cockpit Sureshade extend the communal atmosphere all the way outside.
"The new 470 Sundancer represents a leap forward in terms of design sophistication and user satisfaction," said Sea Ray President Tim Schiek.
"We’ve opened up interior spaces to let light flood in, while also creating a warm environment for nighttime gathering and entertaining."
SKYFLOW DESIGN
Sear Ray says its SkyFlow Design serves to minimise any "cave" effect that might plague a typical express-style yacht.
Elongated hull-side windows underscore the beautiful exterior profile, while providing for generous natural lighting, explains the big boatbuilder.
Water-level living areas open up the lower levels, which include two full-beam staterooms with private heads. Both staterooms have been enhanced with richer materials and finishes. An aft stateroom option replaces the queen bed with split bunks.
The bright and airy lower salon area includes a convertible sleeper. Both staterooms, the lower salon and the sunroom each feature a standard flatscreen LED TV with Blu-Ray player.
The galley area is said to be sleek and luxurious, with high-end finishes and appliances, complemented by plentiful storage. Two couples or families will find ample amenities to stay out all day or overnight in comfort.
PERFORMANCE GAINS
Performance has been enhanced as well, with an exceptionally ergonomic helm station and multiple propulsion systems including Zeus or V-Drive power. All are available with joystick control for precise, responsive handling and effortless docking.
