Navan by Quicksilver to launch as new luxury boat brand

Brunswick, the owner of boat brands including Boston Whaler, is about to launch a new luxury line

Brunswick Corp, the US-based owner of brands including Mercury, Sea Ray and Boston Whaler, is about to launch an all-new line of premium boats under the name Navan by Quicksilver.

The new brand, which Brunswick says will combine “innovative technology with unmatched performance, versatility, and comfort”, will make its debut at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival, which opens on September 12.

The new boat range appears to be pocket cruisers, with the first two models making their Cannes debut named as the S30 and C30.

An image that has leaked onto the internet shows what is believed to be the Navan C30. It shows a strongly European-styled profile with a wavebreaker bow featuring a very deep vee, and a forward-leaning windscreen on the cabin.

The new models will both feature a stepped hull that allows air to mix with the water passing under the hull at planing speeds, reducing friction and fuel use. The technology is featured on a number of skiff-styled European day boats that Navan by Quicksilver is expected to compete with.

The boats will both feature a layout that allows users to spend a weekend out on the water.

“The forward cabin of each boasts a double berth, a large skylight, generous storage, a toilet with an electric flushing system and a pressured hot water shower, making it ideal for families and guests seeking the thrill of the water without sacrificing comfort,” Brunswick said in a statement announcing the new model line.

“Additionally, the models were built to maximise the Brunswick technology portfolio with bow to stern synergies of innovation and performance,” it said.

“Both the C30 and S30 models come standard with the industry’s most advanced technology, including the Simrad NSX GPS and chart plotter, C-Zone operating system, and options for various Mercury outboard engines, including the 300hp V8, 400hp V10 or twin 225hp V6, or twin 250hp or 300hp V8 Verados.”

Technology showcase

The boats will also tap into Brunswick’s suite of technology, which includes CZone electronics controls, eFusion battery system that can replace a genset yet still power an air conditioner or electric grill, premium upholstery that Brunswick says will come with a diamond stitch pattern, a large bow lounge, and a symmetrical cabin and console with good forward access, doors that open to the side decks, and an aft flip-up window.

According to the details in the release, the Navan by Quicksilver C30 will feature a dual helm seat, hardtop with an “XXL” hatch, and an “additional interior galley with sink and stove”.

In contrast, the S30 will feature a fibreglass T-top with rocket launchers supported on a stainless steel frame, a galley under a pivoting cockpit seat, and a convertible two-way cockpit, possibly meaning one set of seats can adjust to face forward ort aft.

No other details have been released.

These new models appear to be the first to be optimised for Brunswick’s full suite of advanced technologies that would otherwise be challenging to retro-fit to an existing product.

The Cannes Yachting Festival runs from September 12 to 17, 2023.
