Multihull Solutions Whitsunday Rendezvous

Multihull Solutions says that if the rate of entries for the 2014 Whitsunday Multihull Rendezvous is any indication, this year’s event will be the most successful yet.

The company has had a record response to its announcement of this year’s Whitsunday Rendezvous being staged from September 1-7.

The 2014 itinerary and entry form is now online at http://www.multihullsolutions.com.au/events/2014-whitsunday-rendezvous, and includes all the details for the week-long multihull event that is set on the sparkling waters of the Whitsunday islands.

The event comprises a host of casual events for both power and sailing multihulls, with frequent stops for fun social functions, exploring and relaxing.

The week’s calendar of social functions includes a Welcome function at Coral Sea Resort in Airlie Beach, a mid-week celebration held at the Hamilton Island Yacht Club, the prawn and punch party at Whitehaven Beach, figurehead competitions, and a fantastic presentation dinner on Long Island at the conclusion of the Rendezvous. Making the most of the breathtaking scenery, the week also includes activities such as island bushwalks, fishing, snorkelling and beach games.

Entry is open to all brands of power and sail multihull of any size, privately owned or chartered. For those who are keen to enter but don’t own a boat or are unable to relocate their multihull to the Whitsundays, chartering options are available through a range of Whitsunday operators.

Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said the Rendezvous continues to grow in popularity because of its formula that brings together serious sailors and leisurely cruisers in a spectacular environment.

“Many of our previous Rendezvous entrants return each year, and we are also attracting many new participants who have heard how much fun the event is,” he said.

“The Rendezvous is also the perfect forum for participants to view other catamaran and trimaran brands and models, while exchanging cruising stories and multihull tips.”
