MTU Power Warren Yachts's Revolutionary S120

Warren Yachts, for years one of the leaders in Australian custom-built super yachts, has announced the launch of their biggest production yacht to date – the revolutionary state-of-the-art S120 to be powered by a MTU marine propulsion system

John Graves, MTU Detroit Diesel Australia's (MTUDDA) marine sales specialist for Qld has been involved in the project and says the design of the S120 is an evolution of the successful 87ft sports yacht, also powered by MTU common rail engines - 10V2000M93 rated at 1500hp.

To date, seven out of eight vessels of the S87 series have been ordered with MTU engines.

The first vessel, S120-01 has been ordered and is in the early stages of build.

"MTU common rail engines have been selected for this vessel and are scheduled for delivery in August, with the vessel due for completion in the third quarter of 2008," said Graves.

Warren Yachts production manager Doug Nelson said: "We chose MTU engines because of their performance - they are top notch!"

The 2400hp16V2000M93 diesels will be the first MTU engines of this rating supplied for an Australian constructed vessel.
