Electric marine motor manufacturer MotorGuide has just added a new model to its range, with the firm claiming the Xi3 (pictured) is the "quietest and easiest to use motor in its class".
The Xi3 is up to 40 per cent quieter than its nearest competitor, says MotorGuide, while it also comes standard with a wireless control.
The Xi3's SecureStep system allows the motor to be stowed and stored with ease – an audible signal confirms the motor is locked in place, while operators can release the motor without having to reach over it.
The motor also comes with a Pinpoint GPS module, allowing owners to mark their position and route, among other functions.
The Xi3 is available in 12- and 24-volt options with thrust ranging from 55 to 70 pounds, while all Xi3 models are Lowrance, Simrad and Mercury VesselView compatible.
Available in fresh water (black) or saltwater (white) variants, the Xi3 comes standard with a three-blad Machete propeller and is available in 48-inch to 60-inch shaft lengths. Built-in sonar is optional for selected motors.
In other MotorGuide news, the company has also released a new 72-inch shaft version of its popular Xi5 motor, making it a solid option for anglers wishing to go further offshore.
The Xi5 also boasts Pinpoint GPS, which now connects to selected Mercury VesselView and Simrad screens, in addition to the existing Lowrance compatibility.
