Western Australian boat builder Fury Custom Boats has opted for Mercury's new Verado 350 SCi outboard to power its hybrid centre console/bow rider, the Fury 282.
The 282, which can seat up to 12 people, is part centre console and part bow rider. The seating and table arrangements in the bow can be removed enabling it to be converted into a sleeping compartment for three.
Under the centre console there is a electric head and a double bed.
"We initially used a Mercury 300hp outboard when we launched the 282 about a year ago," company principal Scott Fury told the Boatsales Network.
"It provided excellent fuel economy and performance but when we heard the Verado 350 SCi was available, we moved up.
"The 282 is not a small boat but with the 350 SCi we can reach almost 42 knots and we can make the run from Bibra Lake, just south of Fremantle, out to Rottnest Island and back using less than 50 litres of fuel."
Fury says the 282 will be on display at boat shows across Western Australia, so keep an eye out for the boat at the Perth Boat Show from August 12th.
