
The Victorian Water Ski Association has began rolling out the famous Moomba Masters, bringing world-acclaimed athletes and officials to participate and compete in various disciplines of water sports activities on the Yarra River.
More than 1.3 million people gather on the banks of the Yarra to watch the best Australian and international waterskiers and wakeboarders battle it out at the Moomba Masters Competition each year.
Junior events have already kicked off, the Women's Slalom kicks is this morning (Friday February 11), there are men's and women's jump events, night-time wake boarding, boys and girls wakebarding finals and mens slalom racing right up to 11pm at the day and night circuit.
Held annually in March in the heart of Melbourne, the six days and nights of watersports action brings spectators and overseas visitors in their thousands to line the shore and witness this event in conjunction with the fun-filled Moomba Festival.
The three-event competition (Trick, Slalom and Jump) will see competitors ski exclusively behind Ski Nautique 200 Tow Boats, with wakeboard competitors behind the new Nautique G23.
The Moomba ski show review nightly helps to create the magic and buzz of the Moomba Masters and is not to be missed.
The Moomba Masters has already kicked off, with the Junior Moomba Invitational underway for two days of competition. This is followed by the Moomba Masters Invitational Championships and activities.
The Moomba Masters is acknowledged through the water ski federations worldwide. The event is endorsed by the International Water Ski and Wake Board Federation.
