Monte Carlo 4S for Melbourne Show

Melbourne Boat Show will see the first showing of the Monte Carlo 4S outside Europe

The 2015 Melbourne Boat Show (June 12-15) has set new records and the organisers say it is set to become the biggest boating event in Victoria.

Possibly the biggest surprise for 2015 is the inclusion of some big boats inside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. As we reported recently, the new Jeanneau 379 will be there, fully rigged.

Not to be outdone, the folks at Sundance Marine are trucking the first Monte Carlo 4S in Australia to the show. In fact, this is the first time the Monte Carlo 4S has been seen outside Europe.

Sundance Marine's David Beck said it was a big undertaking to get the boat into the show: "Show organisers were looking for a bit of 'wow factor' for the show so we agreed to bring the Monte Carlo 4S to the show," he said. "It takes a lot to get a boat of this size into a place like the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre but it'll be worth it and pubic is sure to love it."

Valued at just under $1 million dollars, the Monte Carlo 4S delivers a new level to the Melbourne Boat Show with watercraft on display from a $100 inflatable to a cruiser of this magnitude, and everything in between.

With the entire Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre now fully booked out, organisers say that this year the Melbourne Boat Show has expanded to include every square inch of floor space due to an overwhelming demand from manufacturers to release new models.

Leading Melbourne based manufacturers Haines Hunter, Bar Crusher, Whittley, Evolution and Streaker are all releasing new innovations at the show together with new offerings from Mastercraft, Chaparral and Crownline as just a few of the internationals to debut new models.

In addition to the expansive display of boating gold, the 2015 Melbourne Boat Show introduces an all new level of interactivity for the family with junior fishing, family casting clinics, fishing on the Yarra, boat licence testing and special guests including Paul Worsteling and Lee Rayner. Of course it wouldn’t be the Melbourne Boat Show without regular kids favourite, Flathead Fred.

For 2015 there's also a massive prize pool on offer for visitors including a fun treasure hunt around the show. Visitors simply visit six points around the show and they could win a $50,000 boat, motor and trailer package. Second prize is a Hobie Fish-Sail-Kayak with trailer valued at $9000 and third prize a fantastic Gippsland family holiday valued at $3500.
