The third bowrider in the NSW fibreglass boat builder's range, the Hotshot stands alone from its 1750 and 2000 bowriders, due to its sleek angular lines and deeper vee hull, builder Andrew Pink says.
The relatively narrow beam and deep vee gives the Hotshot a performance edge not normally associated with the typical family bowrider available in Australia, he says.
The company is also planning to expand the range with a 22ft sports cuddy in coming months.
The Mirage name was launched in Australia just two years ago, and in that time, more than a dozen boats are on the water. According to Pink, the Hotshot is becoming popular among social boaters seeking a performance leisure boat with the greater versatility that a sterndrive has to offer.
The Hotshot is fitted standard with a 250hp 5.7lt MerCruiser, taking it to a top speed of around 100kmh, Pink says. A number of MerCruiser power options are available, including a 210hp 4.3lt V-six or a 300hp 5.7lt Magnum MPI.
The layout of the Hotshot is designed to appeal to social users, with ample seating and room for entertaining on the water.
At the foredeck is a pop-up cleat and stainless steel grabrails for passengers at the bow. Up front also, is room for three or more people, on padded seating with storage underneath.
A walk-through helm leads to twin driver and passenger bucket seats. The high back swivel seats are adjustable.
At the helm is carbon-fibre dash panelling with full instrumentation, and a Clarion marine stereo.
At the rear of the cockpit is a bench seat that seats up to four people. Underneath is a large full-length storage locker, which can be used as an icebox. The rear sunpad/engine cover leads to a moulded swim platform at the rear. A swim ladder and grab handles are fitted as standard.
The cockpit features a number of storage areas for skis and the like. An underfloor ski locker sits forward between the two front seats. Side pockets are fitted and there is additional storage on either side of the engine compartment.
The standard package is priced at $39,900 and comes equipped with stereo, Easytow trailer and the MerCruiser 5.7lt Alpha 1 power package.
