The much-anticipated Seakeeper 2 launched at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show, where gyro stabilisers have become must-haves in the marketplace, is now set to make a splash locally at the 2018 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show from May 24-29.
Designed for boats 27 to 32 feet, the new Seakeeper 2 is 25 per cent lighter and 20 per cent smaller than the Seakeeper 3 it supplants. The 12V unit doesn't need separate power generation other than a bank of batteries.
Glenn Frettingham, Managing Director Twin Disc Pacific, claims the new compact Seakeeper 2 eliminates up to 95 per cent of boat roll.
"It will be popular with recreational outboard craft looking for stability, safety and a pleasant day on the water for all, no matter what the conditions.
"Judging from the response in Miami, the Seakeeper 2 will prove very popular in Australia where this segment represents the largest community of boat owners, and it's only growing and outboard boats are getting even larger and packed with more features."

The Seakeeper 2 is designed to be effective at all boat speeds, including zero, and it can operate in all sea states.
Running exclusively on 12-volt power, it does not require generator power, and the compact size means that it can fit into the leaning post of a centre console boat, thus requiring no structural modifications.
TOUCHSCREEN CONTROL
The Seakeeper 2 uses a new touchscreen control panel that allows the capture of real-time performance information.
Priced at $32,400 + GST (Australian retail price), the Seakeeper 2 is pitched at the sub-30ft boat market, a segment which is growing worldwide with the fishing fraternity and family crossover boaters.
Twin Disc will introduce the Seakeeper 2 at SCIBS 2018 from May 24-27 at its on-water display on the marina at F Arm. Meantime, more on the Seakeeper 2.
