Mercury says its new-look Helm Suite is now complete, with the release of the new Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS) control boxes to suit four-stroke Verado outboards as well as selected MerCruiser and Mercury Diesel engines.
Available in single and dual handle versions, the new DTS control boxes not only look sleek and sophisticated, they provide increased functionality.
The single handle control offers an easy-to-use trim button for quick and effortless trimming. There’s also a throttle-only mode which provides throttle control while the engine is in neutral to help when starting and mooring. The ‘transfer’ button allows control to be easily transferred from one helm to another. The neutral indicator light shows when the engine is not in gear and Full Helm Dimming controls all SmartCraft gauge and display brightness levels.
The Double handle control has all the features of the single control as well as extra features including the ability to trim up to four engines individually or all at once. Its Dock Mode reduces control sensitivity by 50 per cent for more precise throttle control at lower speeds making it easier to dock and manoeuvre. There is also Shadow Mode which allows control of up to four engines with just two handles and the Single-Lever Mode provides throttle and shift control of all engines through one handle for easier drivability. Engine Sync functionality automatically syncs the engines when the controls are within 1000rpm of one another.
The new DTS control boxes complete Mercury’s new look Helm Suite, adding to the redesigned SmartCraft dash gauges and the new touch-screen VesselView information display units released recently.
