Perhaps as a counterpunch to BRP's recent release of a Johnson-grey Evinrude ETEC option, Mercury Marine unveiled a white 300hp Verado outboard at the recent Miami International Boat Show.
In addition to classic phantom black, Verado outboards will be available in two shades of white -- Cold Fusion and Warm Fusion -- which were chosen to complement virtually any boat design or style, says the engine maker.
Mercury Marine engineers its paint specifically for the marine environment and the paint process is said to offer superior bonding to engineered polymers for long-term durability.
A combination of manual and robotic paint applications yields an outstanding deep-color appearance, while multiple base and clear coatings provide a long-lasting finish, even in the harshest of environments.
The new paint was apparently tested and measured by Mercury standards developed during 75 years of experience in the marine industry, and included in-lab testing for long-term durability and outdoor endurance testing in Florida.
White Verado outboards feature the same three-year factory-backed warranty coverage of standard Verado engines and are expected to be available for purchase mid-2014.
Along with the latest cool boat wraps, outboard engines have entered the fashion stakes and colour-matching your rig is fast is becoming the new buzz.
