MELBOURNE BOAT SHOW: New Bar Crusher launch

The Melbourne boat builder will have a dozen boats on show including some debut new models

Victorian fishing-boat manufacturer Bar Crusher will release a number of new models at the Melbourne Boat Show (June 16-19), although the crew is keeping tight-lipped about what's in store.

Among the dozen or so Bar Crushers on display will be two new hard top models, as well as a new limited edition series. Available in two different models, the latest limited edition will have distinctive colour schemes, special standard inclusions, and a range of unique features.

The Bar Crusher line-up stretches from the folding-roof cuddy cabin series to centre console, side console, walk-around, and the hard top offshore series, up to its hard top pilothouse boats.

Features include the Waveslicer deep-V hull, Rigideck engineered sub-floor system for maximum hull strength, and Quickflow water ballast technology for excellent stability at rest.

All models from the 490 through to the 615 are also built on Bar Crusher’s industry-leading Gen2 hull that combines a wider negative chine running forward, optimised wider chine aft, and the Delta Flare V-shaped planing plank that starts wider at the transom and narrows as it runs forward.

Extensive testing by Bar Crusher’s R&D team is said to reveal significant performance benefit from the next-generation hull design, which exists under the 490, 535, 575 and 615. The larger 670, 730 and 780 models continue to be built on Bar Crusher’s high-performance deep-V hull.

Bar Crusher bundles its boats as factory packages on custom-designed trailers, with a Bar Catch system for easy single-handed launch and retrieve.
