MELBOURNE BOAT SHOW: Chaparral to launch two new models

All-new jet boat and a fresh Robalo to debut at the Show next week

An all-new Chaparral jet boat and Robalo bay boat will feature in a strong 14 boat line up for Chaparral Australia at next week's Melbourne Boat Show (June 12-16).

The extensive line up will include Xtreme saltwater wake boats, premium SSi bowriders, H20 entry-level ski/fish bowriders and a large selection of Robalo, centre-console, walk-around and crossover models.

The 203 Vortex VRX Jet boat is the first in a series of three new jet-powered models by Chaparral featuring Rotax engines. The range will include the 223 and 243 models later this year.

Scott O’Hare from Chaparral Australia has driven the 203 Vortex and was impressed with how Chaparral have taken their unique DNA and added the dynamics of jet power to the all-new hull.

"It handles better, it is quieter and has a better layout than any jet boat I’ve ever seen," he said.

The Chaparral team are also the importers of stablemate Robalo and have a new category of bass boats dubbed the Cayman series on debut in Melbourne. The R206 Cayman is designed to cover rougher bay and inshore coastal cruising, providing fishos with a safe and dry ride to their favourite locations, while doubling up as a great day boat for general family and fishing duties.

The new Robalo Bay Boat range was launched earlier this year to critical acclaim and is already a best seller for the 46-year-old fishing boat manufacturer.

"I have driven a 206 Cayman in the U.S. and was amazed at the soft, dry ride and stability at rest," said O'Hare. "The new Caymans tick a lot of boxes for anyone considering a bass boat but wanting to do more than just flat-water fishing. We know Aussie fishos will be impressed with the new concept and we expect the Cayman series to be a strong part of the Robalo line up," he added.

"Both the new Vortex and Cayman bay boats are game changers and I am glad we can do the Australian launch for them here in Melbourne; this show is really shaping up to be a beauty and we intend to be very competitive across the board with pricing," he said.

Chaparral celebrates 50 years in the marine industry this year and along with Robalo (46 years) has a solid reputation worldwide for quality, innovation and performance. Between the two companies, there are over 45 models in their ranges from 18 to 42 feet and there's a complete dealer network across Australia.
