Fishing, boating and watersports enthusiasts will be kept busy at next week’s (August 23-25) National 4x4 & Outdoors Show and Fishing & Boating Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds, where thousands of products go on display and are offered for sale at special show prices.
Kicking off this sensational list of exhibitors will be the MY Marine and Bayside Auto joint stand (#D58) in the Fishing Pavilion, where the newest star of River to Reef will be on display -- the new Surtees 6.1 Gamefisher boat hooked up to a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
MY Marine is the exclusive distributor of the Surtees and Stabicraft plate aluminium boat ranges from New Zealand, with the former being the original non-pounding, deep-V hull design, which delivers outstanding stability in even the worst weather.
The recently released Stabicraft 1850 and 2100 Supercab models will also be on display, featuring the "Game Chaser" transom and slick new cabin designs.
Also commanding attention in the Fishing Pavilion will be the latest range from Boats & More (stand #D142), with 11 models from leading boat manufacturers including Anglapro, Sea Jay, Haines Hunter and Larson catering for a wide variety of boating requirements.
Two of Larson's newest fibreglass fishing models -- the FX1850 and the FX1750 -- are certain to be a talking point as they will be the only ones in Australia.
Local boat manufacturer and distributor Melbourne Boat Brokers (#D100) will be exhibiting its own Skicraft and XFI range of Ski and Wakeboarding boats ideal for watersport enthusiasts and families alike, with their proven performance, renowned reputation and standard features.
First time exhibitor, Sunsetter Pontoon Boats (#D129) will be showcasing its latest range of Australian-assembled boats, which are perfect for cruising Victoria's lakes and inlets.
Also sure to turn heads, whether in the Fishing Pavilion, out on the bay or at campgrounds, will be the products on display from Regal Marine at stands #D17, D30 & D140 including the new Malibu Wakesetter MXZ20 wakeboarding boat and TABS Southerner 510 cabin boat.
Regal Marine will be displaying the full breadth of its product range, with the Evergreen Ultima Express fifth-wheel caravan also taking centre stage, as well as its separate tackle stand.
For those who like to take to the water in a different way, Action Kayak & Sail (#D136) will have a large showing of Hobie Kayaks, with the unique pedal-powered range allowing users to pedal, paddle and sail.
Taking pride of place on stand will be the Hobie Pro Angler fishing kayak, packed full of features for those keen small-water anglers. With impressive stability allowing users to stand up, capability to reach six km/hour and powered by a Mirage Drive pedal system and fitted with Turbo Fins, the Hobie Pro Angler is the ideal hands-free fishing platform.
Families can get among the kayak action with the Hobie Tandem Adventure Island, a pedal kayak featuring two large outriggers which, when connected to a set of trampolines makes for comfortable seating and travel for the whole clan.
Melbourne Sea-Doo & Can-Am (#D139) will be displaying an impressive range of its latest on and off-water products including 2013 Sea-Doo Watercraft, Can-Am ATVs, as well as hosting the Victorian debut of the Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicle.
And for those seeking the latest in accessories and chandlery, there are over 50 exhibitors locked in including Tackleworld, Tacklebusters Discount Fishing Tackle, Fly 'n' dry Waders and Squidezy to name just a few.
The popular Fishing Stage will again be a feature with fishing legend and face of television's iFish program, Paul Worsteling hosting alongside David Kramer, with a schedule packed full of guest speakers.
Paul and David, hosts of the 3AW Fishing Show, are passionate anglers and will be engaging show visitors with informative talks, cooking demonstrations and free giveaways, making it a must-see for all fishing and boating enthusiasts.
People of all ages and capabilities will be able to learn or perhaps perfect their fishing techniques with the Young Guns Fishing Adventures, Yamaha Supertank and regular casting classes locked in, together with the neighbouring Flycasting Area where visitors can learn from the best in the business.
For those who won't be able to wait to try out their new skills, the Australian Fishing Simulator Championship sponsored by Gladiator Tackle is sure to be a hit, where challengers attempt to land a virtual blue marlin in the fastest time.
But this is just a snapshot of what will be on display next weekend, with over 220 exhibitors showcasing the latest in everything outdoor, fishing, boating, 4x4 and camping related across the Show's 50,000 square metres.
