Porsche, BMW and Lancia have all tinkered with boat design, so it comes as little surprise that McLaren Applied Technologies has helped to develop UltraLuxum's CXL.
Measuring 48 metres (157ft) long, the boat features state-of-the-art craftsmanship and lightweight materials such as carbon fibre. However, the real coup de grâce is the McLaren-designed retractable outer beams that enable the boat to span 23 metres (75ft) in the beam in open water and 11 metres (36ft) in more confirmed waters.
Besides having the ability to slim down, the CXL has a luxurious interior with a master cabin, four guest cabins and three crew cabins. There's also a lounge, a dining room, a full galley and an optional garage that would be perfect for your McLaren MP4-12C.
While the CXL normally uses wind power, it can be equipped with an optional hybrid system that has electric motors, lithium-ion batteries and, presumably, diesel engine-generators. It enables the 150-tonne yacht to cruise at speeds up to 15 knots.
