A 65-hectare world-class marine industry park is to be built in Granville, Queensland.
To be known as the Maryborough Marine Industry Park, the precinct will provide for ship and boat builders, equipment manufacturers, service providers, vessel refit and maintenance and other marine-related industries.
The park will provide superior opportunities for vessel operators, business developers and regional employment. The park will be built to the highest standards of operational capability and environmental management.
The Fraser Coast Regional Council says the precinct further intends to accommodate a mixture of compatible marine-related business and industry uses.
It will also facilitate a mix of marine industrial and business activities to provide local employment and provide for a range of marine industrial and business activities of a regional significance that add value to the local economy, we’re told.
The land is currently zoned Marine Surrounds and is located between Beaver Rock Road and the Mary River, Granville. The precinct will provide a 9.5ha marina, and a 25.5ha area of land for industrial purposes.
