Maritimo has had a successful four-day promotion at the Miami International Boat Show with multiple orders for its C50 IPS Sports Cruiser.
Maritimo USA President Dave Northrop said more than 100,000 people attended the show and the atmosphere was 'very upbeat'.
"Most exhibitors reported that consumer interest and enthusiasm was the best they had seen in the past five years and sales were strong," he said.
Mr Northrop said locally-manufactured boats in the US had done very well. "In terms of Maritimo, we experienced our best Miami show in recent years and we wrote multiple contracts for the C50 IPS sports cruiser," he said.
"Our dealer network is also working with many prospective new clients who visited our display and we are confident more sales will flow as a result."
Mr Northrop said with buyer interest and enthusiasm renewed and many exciting new Maritimo models being brought to the market the prospect for future sales looks good. "The current high Australian dollar and the costs that relate to manufacturing in Australia are the only negatives holding back even stronger rates of sale," he said.
Maritimo’s marketing director Luke Durman who was in the US for the show said the toughness of the Australian-made boats and their renowned sea keeping ability were key drawcards for the US boat buying public.
Maritimo’s next major boat show presence will be the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May.
